We don’t often play new music on Peoria’s classic rock station, 95.5, GLO, except for the rare new song by one of our core bands. So, if you’ve heard the new Cheap Trick song, “Long Time Coming,” on the station, that’s the case.
“Long Time Coming” is the first single of Cheap Trick’s new album, “We’re All Alright,” which was the band’s second album in as many years, on the heels of 2016’s “Bang, Zoom, Crazy.” It’s the first time Cheap Trick’s released albums in consecutive years since 1985-86.

The intro to the new song will remind you of The Kinks familiar guitar riff from “All Day and All of the Night.” It’s a fun, upbeat rocker. Lead guitarist Rick Nielsen says it borrows from that and other bands they love like the MC5, Aerosmith and AC/DC.
You’ll hear it from time to time on my afternoon show and you can head it below, too. Enjoy.
