Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Neil Young and The Who. That’s the lineup has made the Desert Trip Festival in Indio, California at Coachella the highest grossing concert of all time.
Although festival organizers have not made an official announcement, tickets for the festival have sold out in less than three hours after going on sale. Billboard estimates ticket sales at $150 million dollars, compared to last years highest grossing festival which was Coachella, making 85 million.
The festival is set for two weekends in October, 9-11th and 16-18. The 35,000 reserved seats for each weekend sold for between $699 and $1,599, while general admission was $399. The last tickets to sell out were the $199 day passes.
