The Rock Island Greenway is showing signs of spring with the trail's surrounding natural beauty beginning to sprout. You can help maintain that beauty by participating in a trail clean-up on Friday, April 24 from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Illinois Valley Wheelm'n, the trash pick-up takes place along the group's adopted section of the trail, spanning from the Pioneer Parkway trailhead to the Route 6 tunnel. If you need a map, click here.
Garbage bags and gloves will be provided for volunteers.
After the hard work is done, reward yourself by joining the other volunteers for food and drinks at either the Fox Pub and Cafe or Peoria Brewing Company.
This event is a wonderful way to enhance the trail experience for others and yourself. And you'll meet some great people along the way.
