More sad news Peoria Rock fans from the music world this Labor Day Weekend, as Smash Mouth lead singer Steve Harwell has passed away today at the age of 56. Harwell and the band blew up in 1997 with the release of the song “Walking On The Sun”, and went on to have additional big songs in the coming years, especially with the song “All-Star” that was a big hit for the band in 1999. Harwell was in hospice care this week, and was in failing health. Harwell left the band in 2021.
