A pair of 3-3 teams, seemingly headed in opposite directions, square off in our main Super Nutrition Red Zone Game of the Week on 95.5, GLO, your radio home for classic rock, Chicago Bears and high school football.
Pekin’s season began with three tough losses to good teams – all games the Dragons had late second half leads in. After the heart breaking loss to Dunlap on our Red Zone Game of the Week 3, Pekin’s regrouped and won three straight Mid Illini games against good opponents: Morton, Canton and Washington. The Dragons’ 26-21 win over the Panthers last Friday was their first in the series in seven years.
Metamora will play host to Pekin this Friday in our week 7 main game of the week. Metamora was trailing 7-0 at the half at Morton in our Red Zone game of the week last Friday, then got steamrolled by the Potters offensive line and sophomore running back Seth Glatz, who ripped Metamora for 300+ yards rushing and 4 TD’s. Can the Redbirds salvage their injury-plagued season? Listen to the pregame show starting at 7 pm with my interviews with both head coaches, Ryan and Nutter. Kickoff’s at 7:30p from Malone Field. Tony Johnson and I call the action.
In our secondary game, it’s a Heart of Illinois crossover contest with large school 5-1 Eureka hosting small school 4-2 Tremont. Tom Meredith will be there to call some live play by play and give scoring updates. Tyler Busch keeps stats at our main game, while studio producer Jason Glick tracks scores and keeps us on the rails.
