The local wrestling community has come together to help out a well-known wrestling family in their child’s battle with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. All day Saturday (5/12), you can help out with donations during the wrestling tournament and benefit for Aidan williaims, the son of TJ and Chelsea Williams. TJ is the head coach of the Tremont High School wrestling team and trains kids of all ages in the sport at his business, TJ Trained in Morton.
Saturday’s wrestling tournament runs from 7 am til 3 pm at Tremont High School and features a morning appearance from wrestling legen Dan Gable. After the tourney, the venue switches to Countryside Banquet Facility, 659 School Street, in Washington for a spaghetti dinner and fundraiser. The dinner is $12 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, with a DJ and live music from the Tom Beckman Band and cash bar. Silent and live auctions will help raise money for the Williams’ family.
Just a few months ago, they were handed the tough diagnosis that their son, Aidan, has leukemia. Aidan has started treatment here at the St. Jude Peoria Midwest facility. Since learning about Aidan’s illness, the parents haven’t been able to work, focusing on their child’s medical care. With income gone and medical expenses quickly mounting, their need for monetary help is a priority.
Make a donation or donate an item or service prior to Saturday’s event by calling Brittany Conway at 309-696-7379 or Rick Linthicum at 309-303-4025. They’ll pick up any donations if necessary. Make checks out to TJ Trained Aidan Strong. The Strong Mind Strong Body Strong Aidan team has rallied for this sports family and is hoping you’ll come through for them Saturday.
