Fleetwood Mac showed off their new lineup on the CBS This Morning Show this week, with conspicuously absent, former member Lindsey Buckingham on everyone’s mind.
The band, which has added two major talents: Heartbreaker guitarist Mike Campbell and Crowded House singer Neil Finn, said the main reason for the split with their longtime member was Buckingham’s avoidance of the road. Though they’d been in talks to hit the road for about a year and a half, they said Lindsey wouldn’t agree to their upcoming tour, that their negotiations with him “hit a brick wall.”
What was surprising to us fans is that the “hit-making 5 lineup” was all together in January to receive the MusiCares Person of the Year award, the first time it’d been given to a band as opposed to an individual. That lineup played together that night, but things were souring behinds the scenes, something this band knows all too well about.
Fleetwood Mac’s tour will start this fall and run into 2019, playing over 50+ dates. See the new “super 6 lineup” in Chicago at The United Center on October 6 or in St. Louis on October 20 at Scottrade Center.
