The one and only Peter Frampton is playing Peoria on Wednesday night at the Civic Center Theater. It’s your chance to hear some of the most popular songs of your youth from the affable British gentleman who often can be heard on our Bob and Tom Show.
(Try opening it in Internet Explorer!)
In the interview I did with Frampton, we start by talking about his gratitude to BNT, a relationship that goes back many years. You’ll hear about his early proclivity for guitar music and how he became a musical prodigy – my words, not his – he’s far too humble to call himself that.
Frampton tells the almost unbelievable story of his lost black beauty guitar that he played on “Frampton Comes Alive,” one of the most popular albums of all time. Besides that album, I asked him what other music of his is under appreciated, music that the younger generation should discover.
We discuss his long relationship with hometown buddy, David Bowie, who was an art student of Frampton’s dad in England. Frampton talks about how he discovered the Talk Box and also previews what songs you’ll hear when you see him play at the Theater Wedesday night. Tickets are still available at the box office and through Ticketmaster.
