Comedian Bill Engvall’s been making laugh for about a quarter century. That might make him or you feel old, but it more speaks to a great career and relationship Bill’s maintained with his fans.
Bill plays Peoria Friday night, (Feb. 9), at the Civic Center Theater. Tickets are still available at the box office and through Ticketmaster.
I talked with Bill recently – hear the interview in its entirety by clicking on the Podcasts section (under Shows) at this site, but it won’t open in Google Chrome or Firefox, but will in Internet Explorer! – ahead of his Peoria show. You can expect a clean, clever, relatable show, per usual, devoid of politics or religion. He’s back doing stand up, mainly, and living in Utah with his wife of some 36 years.

We chatted about his big break, the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with his friend Jeff Foxworthy, and how he’s done just about everything he’s wanted to do in his career. He was also aided by numerous appearances on our morning show, The Bob and Tom Show, early in his career. His TV and movie appearances are too numerous to mention, but we did hit on his TBS “Bill Engvall Show.”
He treats his shows more like a humorous conversation than the usual, stand up format of set up – joke – set up – joke. And he admits he’s been gifted with the talent to see humor in every day activities we all do. As he once said, “We’re all alike, just with different accents.”
