Rolling Stones’ Blues Album Wins Two UK Awards [VIDEO]

I like the blues, but not well enough to buy blues music. I know the blues had a baby and called it rock and roll. I’m respectful of it, but no connoisseur. I like to rock. So, I can’t give you a review on The Rolling Stones 2016 album, “Blue and Lonesome.” I know the album came about unexpectedly and took only a few days to record, as the boys decided to go with a spontaneous sound without the overdubbing that goes on with pretty much every album.

The Brits seem to like it just fine. Last night at the JAZZ FM Awards in London, that album was chosen Blues Album of the Year. The Stones were named Blues Artist of the Year. I can’t say whether it was well-deserved or a lifetime achievement award.

Either way, those awards drew three of The Stones to make a rare appearance at an awards show. Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood showed up to accept the honors. The video below captures the occurrence.
