A popular, local musician, Bob Miller, a fixture on the Peoria music scene for half a century, passed away last month unexpectedly. Miller will be remembered Sunday with a memorial show at the Limelight Eventplex on N. University in Peoria. Whalepalooza will be a fun, live music show with local musicians playing in his honor. Doors at 3p, show’s at 3:30pm. It’s open to everyone.
Craig Moore, himself a well-known local music guy and record store owner, is gathering friends and fans of “The Whale,” Miller’s nickname. Miller played in numerous local bands through the years with “Ready, Steady, Go” being his best-known band. RSG performed for two decades, entertaining its fans with authentic, energetic 60’s rock.
Miller taught guitar to many students over the years. On his behalf, there will be fundraising Sunday, with plans to use the money to help a local guitar/music student.
If you attended live music shows in the area, chances are you’ve seen Miller play over the years. Fans and many former band mates will attend – as well as play at – the Sunday event at the main room and stage of The Limelight. Get more info about “The Whale” HERE and at the Facebook link HERE.
