I admit it, my wife and I have gotten sucked into the nightly spectacle / soap opera / reality TV show that doubles as cable TV’s daily political coverage. Luckily, we share opinions of this clown show.
Nothing is changing my mind as to which Presidential candidate I’m voting for, yet I’m still watching the argumentative, make-a-mountain-out-of-an-ant-hill cable TV crap nightly, getting upset and wasting emotional energy with segments filled with false equivalence. Probably not good for a guy seven months sober.
So, I saw that a friend had early voted this week and looked into it. Found out that Peoria County has allowed early voting for the past decade, no questions asked. As of yesterday, 5,000 local folks had cast their vote already.
According to the Peoria County Election Commission website (click HERE), votes cast early are NOT COUNTED until after the polls close on November 8. So the cable networks are speculating on which way the early voting is leaning, apparently by doing exit polling….or just guessing, who the flip knows!
You can early vote downtown Peoria at the Election Commission Office, 542 SW Adams, near the Peoria Police headquarters, 8:30a-4:30p. ICC North Campus early voting is between 10a-6p. Lake Camelot Club House in Mapleton has hours between 10a-6p also.
I found more early voting locations through the Rock The Vote website (click HERE). Looks like Calvin Coolidge School in West Peoria and the Alpha Park Public Library in Bartonville are some other places you can vote right now.
I’m thinking this might be a good thing for me to do, as I can’t wait for November 8th to come and go. And, of course, very little will change after the election anyway, IMO.
