The final regular season game of the year is Friday night. For seniors on the majority of high school football teams, this will be the final time they strap it up and play football. It can be a bit emotional for these seniors, who’ve spent years practicing, sweating and training to get better at this physical, tough, demanding and rewarding sport. Join us when the Friday night lights go on – for some – for the final time this season with our Illinois National Bank Red Zone Presented by OSF Healthcare.

For Limestone, a promising 3-game winning streak to start the season was followed by a 5-game losing streak. Friday night, it’s one last chance to put the uniform on and go finish their careers or season on an upbeat note. For 5-3 Pekin, coming off a thrilling 21-20 home win over then state-ranked Metamora last week, it’s a chance to earn the right to play again. A sixth win for the Dragons puts them in the state football playoffs for the fifth time in season seasons under head coach Doug Nutter. Longtime Peoria Pirates head coach Bruce Cowdrey and I will have the call from Bartonville.

Our secondary game is one that should be played in the state championship round, but week 9 will have to do. The top two Class 2A teams in the state – #1 (8-0) Tri Valley plays at #2 (8-0) Dee Mack Friday night. Tom Meredith will have score updates and live play by play from Mackinaw.

Great community-minded supporting sponsors make our broadcast possible, so go visit Starcrest Cleaners, Heartland Apartments and Rocket Tire Service. Listen in anywhere in the world for the final week of the regular season, week 9, of the Illinois National Bank Red Zone Presented by OSF Healthcare, with the pregame at 7 O’clock Friday night… on Peoria’s home for football and classic rock, 95.5, GLO.
