Week 7 of the high school football season arrives with a log jam atop the Mid Illini Conference standings – four teams are tied for first place with 3-1 conference marks – and a big local showdown in the Prairieland Blue Conference. Tune in when the Friday night lights go on throughout the fall with the Illinois National Bank Red Zone presented by OSF Healthcare.

Our main game of the week pits 5-1, 3-1 Metamora at home, hosting a disappointing 2-4 Dunlap. In our secondary game, two 6-0 teams square off, with Elmwood-Brimfield at Farmington.  Longtime Peoria Pirates head coach Bruce Cowdrey and I will call the Mid Illini game, while Tom Meredith will be in Farmington for score updates and some live play by play.

Other top games this week include the Mid Illini matchup between two of the four teams tied for first, Pekin at Washington. In the Big Twelve, #1 ranked Peoria High (6-0) hosts 6-0 Danville on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peoria Stadium.
