Ted Nugent is returning to central Illinois for the first time since playing in front of 20,000 five summers ago, along Peoria’s riverfront for my 50th birthday celebration…er, I guess, it was the Grand Nationals concert…whatevs. Terrible Ted’ plays Three Sisters Park on Saturday night, August 6, and Wednesday evening, Shelly Hranka of Groveland, former Richwoods High School hockey mom (I coached her son Billy), won the second of four pairs of tickets. We’ll give away pairs on 7/27 and 8/3, too.

There’s lots to love about New Amsterdam, which turns three years old this month. Great food is what NA is known for, with jet-fresh seafood and aged steaks. It’s also a great place to share some laughs with friends while enjoying the second floor patio view overlooking the Illinois River.
Hump Day Happy Hour patio drink specials include: $2 Margaritas, $2 cans of Corona and Modelo Especial and $3 shots. If you want a lighter meal, try their Hump Day patio food specials, like: $2 Quesadilla, $3 Pounders and $5 personal lobster or taco nachos.
NA has 28 rotating draft beers of all varieties, sure to please even the most discerning beer aficionado. Try four different drafts at one time with the $8 flight. For more info on NA go to newamsterdampeoria.com.
Enjoy the view from the second floor patio, the specials, the great classic rock and the witty repartee from Sir Doc-A-Lot. We’re there all summer, each Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. at New Amsterdam, where waterfront fun is always on tap. Find NA on Water Street, downtown Peoria, across the street from the riverfront museum and join in on the fun with our Hump Day Happy Hour from Peoria’s classic rock station, 95.5, GLO.
