
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported today that Prince died of an opioid overdose, citing a source familiar with the investigation of the famous singer’s death. However, the official autopsy results have yet to be released. Prince, 57, was found dead on April 21st in his home in Minnesota. It was also reported that Prince’s team contacted an opioid specialist for help with his addiction the day before his before his death. A law enforcement source also told CNN that prescription opioids were found on Prince and in his home. The investigation into Prince’s death is still ongoing as law enforcement look into where Prince got the opioids and from whom. More information available from CNN here.
