Today marks the 35th Anniversary of the death of John Lennon, who was tragically murdered on this date in 1980. John is an inspiration to millions of people to this day. His message of ‘Peace, Love, and Understanding’, and anti-war activism in the 1970’s propelled him as a spokesman of a generation, aside from being one of the world’s greatest musicians. There are tributes all day today on 95-5, GLO. We are spinning ‘Two-Fers’ at the top of each hour, and hour long sets of John and the Beatles in the Noon hour, and in the 5pm hour today.
We will dive deep into the solo catalog of John, and also the Beatles catalog. All of the songs today featured are songs with John on vocals, and songs that wrote, whether with Paul McCartney, solo, or with Yoko Ono. So, take time during this busy Holiday season, to pay homage, and take his words, his philosophy to heart. ‘All You Need Is
Love’, indeed! We miss you, John!
