Once again, you’ve responded to the call of giving to those less fortunate. And once again, you’ve raised the bar for the amount of non-perishable food items donated to the annual City Link Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive.
This November, 9.15 tons of food were collected at area Kroger stores and at the Peoria Friendship House, which has provided around 93,000 meals this year to families dealing with hunger. The 18,313 pounds of donated food exceed last year’s total (again) and goes to the food pantry at the Friendship House, located at 800 NE Madison in Peoria.
“We are truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from the good people of Peoria,” said Melanie McNiff, President and CEO of the Peoria Friendship House. “Just when our need was the greatest, the giving was the best.”
Thanks, again, for showing your charitable side and contributing over 9 tons of food and making the 28th Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive a success.
