I saw a video from the Kennedy Center Honors Led Zeppelin floating around Facebook this morning. This was from 2012, but I just had to share it again. Ann and Nancy Wilson did a cover of Stairway to Heaven, one of the most difficult and beautiful Led Zeppelin songs. Ann has done covers of Zeppelin songs in the past and with her amazing voice it’s nothing short of thrilling. But this video is even more special. To see the members of Led Zeppelin so moved, especially Robert Plant as he wipes away a tear, makes us remember how powerful these songs are. Every once in a great while a version of a legendary song surfaces that almost allows us to feel like it’s the first time we have ever heard and experienced it. This was one of those times.
