Van Halen continued its media onslaught today with an appearance on the syndicated daytime talk show, Ellen. VH performed "Jump," The band sounds great, as they did on their performances for Jimmy Kimmel's late night show, while Diamond David Lee Roth's nose looked fine; his vocals so-so. This, after he took 14 stitches to close a gash he inflicted upon himself when he twirled his metal martial arts pole recklessly into his face Monday.
On this song, it appears that Eddie Van Halen's keyboard part was pre-recorded. Eddie's guitar solos are stellar. The Ellen crowd, all women, ate it up. All crowd members received the new Van Halen Live at Tokyo double album and tickets to see them at the Hollywood Bowl in October.
95.5 GLO is giving away a trip for two to L.A. to see Van Halen at that same Hollywood Bowl show, October 2. Our online Van Halen Flyaway contest will also give the winner meet n greet passes and a signed custom Eddie Van Halen guitar, brought to you by Steampunk Smoke N More – stop smoking and start vaping – with locations in North Pekin and Farmer City. I also have a couple more copies of the live double Tokyo album to give away on the afternoon show this week.
