I don't usually partake in the cliched mention of any kind of official (fill in the blank) day I see touted on the internet daily. But since it's a slow news day – unless you like political crap, like Ted Cruz's announcement that he wants to be President when he grows up – I thought I'd drop this gem of a pic I took over the weekend, as my three boys enjoyed the first day of Spring at The Compound.
It's in honor of today being National Puppy Day. I like cats, but I love dogs, and there's nothing sweeter and/or more frustrating than owning a puppy dog. We've now had four Siberian Husky puppies (one of our first pair has already passed), so my wife and I can attest to how much fun and entertaining they can be and are still. They, also, can be hellions and destroy stuff.
We're fortunate in that my wife works at home and our dogs are not left alone much. But our most recent pups have destroyed their share of stuff (they're now about a year and a half year old). They're adept at sneaking out shoes or anything left on the floor into the back yard, where they chew and chomp on them out of our sight, behind the pool. One of my pups swallows small socks down in a split second. Still, if you can set your expectation up for some damage, they do grow out of it, generally. Here are some TIPS if you're considering getting one.
Here's to puppies and the folks who love them (how can you not)!
