For the sixth straight year, the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington is hosting World Championship ICE Racing on its arena ice. Ice that's normally reserved for hockey games and the occassional figure skating show.
Saturday night at The Cell, you can see some craziness on ice, with no-holds-barred, anything goes motorsports competition on the icy oval track. Watch professional manufacturer's world cup MOTORCYCLES and ice's wild unlimited outlaw QUADS racing against one another on the slippery surface.
They're expecting around 20 races in various divisions, and local riders are encouraged to participate. Interested riders should contact 843-213-1182 or log onto www.icespeedway.com to see if there's still time to get into the Saturday action, which is the league's fifth round. All riders must meet certain requirements.
Tickets are $20 for adult reserved seating, $10 for children 2-12. General admission adult tickets are $18. It'll cost you $2 more the day of the show. Ticketmaster outlets and The Cell's box office have them. Or listen to the afternoon show this week for your chance to snag a pair.
