Car, SUV and truck lovers, gear up for the 24th Annual Central Illinois Auto Show, coming to the Civic Center the first weekend of April, April 5-7. And listen to my afternoon show to win a four-packs of tickets to the annual Spring event in downtown Peoria.
The Peoria Metro New Car Dealers Association is thrilled to host the auto show again. It's the largest one downstate, and they're expecting about 40,000 to browse through the Civic Center that weekend. This year's event is going to be huge, with 33 dealers displaying over 300 new vehicles from 29 different manufacturers. So, if you're thinking about buying a new vehicle or just like to dream about it, this is the ultimate one-stop shopping experience, all on one level, under one roof.
In addition to all the cars, SUV's and trucks to view, there'll be plenty of interesting exhibits and characters to see, too. Try the NASCAR racing simulator, by sitting in the #38 M&M''s Ford Fusion for a real-feel interactive experience. There's also going to be an exact one-half-scale replica of the current Nextel Cup cars for kids.
Bring your kids - kids uder 15 get in free, BTW - because they'll enjoy meeting Nickelodeon characters like Sponge Bob Square Pants and Dora the Explorer, not to mention Marvel Comic Strip characters like Spider-Man and Iron Man. I know my grand kid is crazy for Spiderman!
You'll have a shot at winning some cool prizes with this year's CarCode Scavenger Hunt, going on each day. Search for the QR Code signs throughout the auto show. Entries will have a chance to win a LazyBoy Recliner on Friday, a 2-day trip to Vegas on Saturday and a Metropolitan Scotter on Sunday. And new for this year, there's going to be a Celebrity Center, with appearances from Richwoods grad and current Chicago Bear Sherrick McManis, Eureka grad and current Kansas City Chief, Andy Atudebaker, 2012 Miss Illinois Megan Erwin and the St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders.
Plus, I've got 25 four-packs of tickets to give away from Monday, 3/25, through Thursday, 4/4, on my afternoon show. It's the annual Central Illinois Auto Show, check it out (as the well-heard jingle goes)!
