Vets are urging pet safety on Halloween. A new survey from Petplan pet insurance shows that candy-related pet health issues and emergencies increase by 245% during Halloween week http://www.gopetplan.com/. And vets caution that the average chocolate ingestion incident averages $582 out of your pocket.
I have been a dog lover my entire life and as a child I wanted to share everything with any random dog I encountered because I wanted them to be my friend. It never hurts to have that talk with your little ones about not sharing with animals because it can be harmful to them. Maybe when you are dressing your dog up like a giant spider or three headed Harry Potter creature you could give the kids reminders. Your dog may not love the costume but it will feel better without a snickers in his stomach. Happy Halloween!
