This week is quite possibly one of the best weeks of the entire year. Thursday is Thanksgiving so people all around the world will be stuffing their faces with turkey, dressing, and all the delicious goodies that come with Thanksgiving. Friday is mostly known for celebrating Black Friday, where people lose their sanity and get ahead of the game in their Christmas shopping. But with Thanksgiving and Black Friday to be celebrated at the end of this week, you can’t forget about the longest running holiday parade in existence. That’s right; I’m talking about the Santa Claus parade.
The annual Santa Claus parade will be celebrated this Friday in downtown Peoria kicking off at 10:15 am. While the Santa Claus parade has to share people’s attention along with Black Friday, the Santa Claus parade is one of the most treasured traditions that exist in Peoria. This year will be the 125th annual edition of the Santa Claus parade. Needless to say, the Santa Claus parade always brings a sense of Christmas spirit. Consisting of countless floats, horse units, and people dressed up in costumes, the Santa Claus Parade is the perfect way to wrap up the Thanksgiving festivities and get you started for the holidays.
So after you get your Black Friday shopping out of the way early Friday morning, you better make sure you make a detour to downtown Peoria to witness the longest running Christmas parade. Bring the kids along with for some amazing family fun and allow yourselves to get prepared for the holidays. Trust me, you won’t want to miss out.
