It seems like every couple months we hear about some area high school teacher engaging in some sketchy, perverted behavior.  The latest incident happened at Dunlap High School, where a 52-year-old male teacher alledgedly was secretly videotaping fellow female teachers in a faculty bathroom.  He used a cellphone and taped it under the sink, where it took pics every three seconds.  He's facing felony charges and has been fired.

He's the second Dunlap High teacher in less than a year to be caught secretly video recording.  Another male teacher is doing six months in the county jail for using his iPad on the floor near his desk to record "upskirt" pics of female students.

An it's not just one school where this has happening.   A month or so ago a 28-year-old female teacher at Manual High School was caught sexting with a male student and alledgely hooking up with him in a classroom.  Back a few months ago, it was a 22-year-old female teacher in Mossville who was charged with having sex with a 16-year-old student.  

That's four area incidents in four months, not to mention the regular national reports of student-teacher sex that hit the media machine. It's not isolated.  I know the great majority of teachers don't engage in this stuff, but it sure seems like it's happening more and more.  It's giving the profession a black eye.  

The bad behavior seems to break down into two groups:  older men videotaping younger girls or looking at porn at school (remember the Richwoods teacher/football coach who lost his job for that a few years ago?) and younger female teachers trying to -and usually succeeding - have sex with younger male students.

I'm just wondering if more creepers are becoming teachers or are these activities just being reported more and quicker than before?  Are teachers trying to make up for their own dull high school experience by scoring with underage kids the second time around?

Either way, for those few who can't surpress their kinky or illegal urges, find another profession.  Hey, everyone's horny to some degree, but most know there's a line not to cross.  You can at least scour the internet for your porn at home.  Because, if you do the latter at school, you'll soon wind up unemployed.
