Rolling Stones' Sympathy For The Devil Featured In Super Bowl Spot

No good idea in show biz goes uncopied.  Last year, KIA used Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart" as the background bed for a dream sequence, where an average Joe gets overdosed by magic dust and starts getting every fantasy he can dream up coming true.  In addition to the heavy dose of classic rock, the commercial includes hooking up with a super model and driving his dream car in a race track scene.  It was a good spot, you'll remember.  Watch below.

So, this year Mercedes Benz borrows, in  my humble opinion, from the previous year's KIA spot, using the great Willem Dafoe to play the Devil in a spot using The Rolling Stones' "Sympathy for the Devil" as its background music. This spot also features an average Joe dreaming about his fantasies becoming fulfilled, like hooking up with a super model - in this case Kate Upton - and driving his dream car on a race track. See the new commercial below. I like both spots, but it does seem that Mercedes ripped off the KIA idea more than a bit.
