ON AIR NOW:
Pope Benedict To Resign
12:55PM Monday
February 11, 2013

Today, Pope Benedict, the leader of over a billion Roman Catholics world wide, decided to step away from his role as the head of the Catholic church.  It's the first time a Pope has resigned in nearly 600 years.

The 85-year-old Pope Benedict said he was retiring because of his advanced age and lack of energy.  He had taken over the top spot in the Catholic church in 2005.

"Strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me,"

I'll speculate on the reasons why and whom might replace Pope Benedict on the afternoon show. His replacement is expected to be named by Easter.  Whatever I present is not to be taken seriously, of course.
