Sure, you can waste your money Wednesday on a Powerball ticket.  The 42-state lottery game's jackpot is expected to be around $425 million dollars.  Odds are not in your favor, though.  As I mentioned on my afternoon show, you've got a better chance of dying from a bee sting (1 in 6 million), getting attacked by a shark (1 in 11 million) or making a hole in one in golf (1 in 13,000) than you do hitting the Powerball jackpot (1 in 175 million).
