Illinois Basketball Stays Unbeaten: 10-0! Now Ranked #10 In Nation.
12:07PM Monday
December 10, 2012

Not to many people would've predicted the Illinois mens basketball team, with a new head coach in Jim Groce, to be undefeated about a third of the way through the season.  But the Illini continue to surprise.  The most recent exhibit:  an 85-74 win at #10 previously undefeated Gonzaga late Saturday night.  The Illini trailed by 11 points in the first half before rallying to tie the game at the intermission and pulled away in the second half for the win against Mark Few's Bulldogs.

Brandon Paul went off for 35 points and was named the Big Ten Player of the Week.  Fellow senior D. J. Richardson (Peoria High) added 11 points and six rebounds for the 13th ranked Illini.  After knocking off the number 10 team in the country in Gonzaga, the Illini are now ranked #10 in this week's AP Poll.  Last time the Illini were in the top 10 was 2006 when Dee Brown was starring.  Next up for Illinois is the Tuesday night home game against Norfolk State, which you'll hear on this station begining with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m.  Below you'll see some highlights from the big road win in Spokane, Washington.
