Illini Look For First Big Ten Road Win Tonight
1:09PM Tuesday
January 22, 2013

It's been a while since the Illinois mens basketball team celebrated a road victory.  You'd have to go back to early December when the Illini won at Gonzaga (see image above).  Tonight, the Illini will look to snap a 3-game Big Ten losing streak with a victory at Nebraska, which just collected its first Big Ten win of the season at Penn State Saturday.

Illinois has been a hard team to figure out.  Clearly, the Illini don't have a dominant big man or post precence.  They live and die with the 3-point shot.  But other programs have won with this formula.  And, earlier this season, the Illini have beaten GOOD nationally-ranked teams.  Illinois earned "W's" over current #9 Butler in Hawaii, current #10 Gonzaga and current #14 Ohio State at Assembly Hall.  Since that Ohio State game, though, it's been three rough losses in a row.

Peoria native (Peoria High) D. J. Richardson needs three 3-pointers to move up to number three on the all-time Illinois 3-pointers made list.  Tonight's pregame begins at 7 pm, with the tip from Lincoln at 7:30 pm.  Illinois sports are brought to you by Meadows Avenue Tap in East Peoria and Shifters Pub, downtown Peoria, on Peoria's home for the Illini and classic rock, 95.5, GLO!
