Chances are either someone you know or even yourself has had the flu this year. It seems to be going around worse than usual this year.
The Center for Disease Control says the number of patient visits for the flu is nearly at the peak of the 2007-2008 flu season which was considered moderately severe but still not as high as the 2009-2010 swine flu epidemic.
"We're even seeing hospitals sending patients in because they're so full from outlying communities too, so as you say, it's in epidemic proportions," said Dr. John Miller at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
