The annual "Diggin' For Dax" volleyball tournament happed this past Saturday at the RiverPlex in downtown Peoria. This is a fund raiser that supports the Dax Locke Foundation and all of the money raised goes to support the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Over 60 local people participated in the tournament this year and the goal was to raise at least $5,000.
Julie Locke lost her son, Dax Locke, back in 2009 to cancer. Little Dax's story inspired the making of a film called The Heart of Christmas which aired world wide on the GMC, the Gospel Music Channel.
Julie has a passion for volleyball and uses the sport to help raise money to help other kids who are affected by childhood cancer. Julie's long term goal is to raise 1.6 million for St. Jude and she has over $700,000 of that money already raised.
