
The Bears went out and made some upgrades during free agency signing tight end Martellus Bennett from the New York giants and left tackle Jermon Bushrod from the New Orleans Saints.
Bushrod is a two time pro bowler and has played in the offensive system of Aaron Kromer, who is now the Bears offensive coordinator. Bennett had career highs last year with 55 receptions and 626 yards as the Giants tight end.

Key because we talked about at the end of this season getting better in the middle field area, that we have to find ways to get better in that area and we certainly feel that Martellus is going to help solve that problem."

"We got two really fine people and very good players," said coach Marc Trestman. "We've got two quality guys, two guys that are ascending at their work at this stage of their lives. Every day we're going to try to get our team better and this was a great start to doing that."
