Another Monday and another Bears loss. Whats going on? The Bears lost 21-14 to the Vikings, a team they should have beaten. With only three games to go, the Bears are clinging to their playoff lives.
Banged Up Bears
The Bears are banged up. Brian Urlacher was out with a hamstring and will be for the next few weeks.Wide out Earl Bennett didn't play because of a concussion. Defensive back Tim Jennings who's leading the league in interceptions was out along with tackles Stephen Paea and Lance Louis, who is out for the season. They were missing alot of key players but thats still no exuse for losing.
Adrian Peterson....He's good.
The only thing that kept me from breaking my television yesterday was the fact that Adrian Peterson is on my fantasy team and he was racking up points for me left and right. Unfortuantly, he was doing it against my team. The guy had over 100 yards in the first quarter. After that the Bears seemed to figure it out and held him to a measly 154 yards and 2 touchdowns for the game. Still, the damage was done. That guy is really good.
Missed Opportunites
The Bears could have won this game. Alshon Jeffery dropped a sure touchdown pass in the first half and Devin Hester would have coasted into the endzone late in the fourth quarter if the ball wouldn't have bounced off his facemask. Thats 14 points right there and a tie game.
Good Jay, Bad Jay
As Jay goes, so do the Bears. Not a great outing for the qb. The two picks he threw really cost the Bears with one being returned for a touchdown. Then to add insult to inury he gets hurt. I'm wondering why he didn't play the last few series of the game. Did Lovie just concede the win to the Vikings at that point or was Jay a little woozy from getting rocked? Hope its not another concussion.
Yay Brandon Marshall
The Bears offense is pretty much just throw it to this guy. Another 100 yard game and he's now over 100 catches for the season. Double team him, triple team him, he's still gonna catch the ball. You can't stop him. I would say he's the third best reciever in the league behind Larry Fitz and Calvin Johnson. The only thing thats holding him back is some key drops in the endzone this year. Other than that, the guy is money.
On to the Packers
The Bears have lost two in a row and now have to play the Green Bay Packers. Not the team to try to end a losing streak against. The only good thing is that the game is in Chicago. Its a must win for the Bears. They're playoff chances are dwindling each week and a loss would put them even farther back in the division. They can win, the just need to score points because you Aaron Rodgers will be. It's the Bears biggest game of the year. Lets hope they treat it that way.
