Yep, it’s that time of year again. The Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame committee has announced their nominees for the class of 2020 for induction. Per the usual, the list is rife with debate and controversy. The nominees for 2020 are:

  • DAVE MATTHEWS BAND
  • PAT BENATAR
  • DEPECHE MODE
  • THE DOOBIE BROTHERS
  • WHITNEY HOUSTON
  • JUDAS PRIEST
  • KRAFT WERK
  • MC5
  • MOTORHEAD
  • NINE INCH NAILS
  • THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G.
  • RUFUS FEATURING CHAKA KHAN
  • TODD RUNDGREN
  • SOUNDGARDEN
  • T. REX
  • THIN LIZZY

So, that is one impressive list, to say the least. Some of you may question the Whitney Houston’s and Kraftwerk names on the list, but keep in mind, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame celebrates ALL “Genre’s” of Rock music, they have inducted multiple varieties of artists who have performed and owned their style of music, under the “Rock and Roll” banner. Obviously, some big, heavy hitters are nominated. Pat Benatar is one of the greatest female Rockers of all time, with millions of albums sold, and big songs in the 1980’s, along with being a huge influence. Judas Priest, a MASSIVE influence on the Metal side of the fence, is certainly deserving. Soundgarden, well, that one is an obvious win. Their career and influence helped define the massively popular Grunge movement in the 1990’s. And then you have fan favorites, like Motohead and Depeche Mode. Both bands huge in their own right, and owners of their Genre. Depeche Mode defined the keyboard and techno movement in the 1980’s and 1990’s, and sold out stadiums with multi-platinum albums. Nine Inch Nails, hell yes! The Doobie Brothers??? How are they not already in? Clearly one of the biggest Rock bands of the 1970’s, with multi-platinum albums, and huge radio hits. Well, debate away! This list is certainly fun this year. We will keep you updated!
