I’ve got a short week, leaving on Thursday for The Mitten for an “Up North” family vacation – taking a few newbies to Lake Michigan and the best inland beaches in America. Thought it’d be a good time to bust out some Rockford rock.  I’m still amazed at how good these guys sound live, having recently heard them on the Peoria Riverfront two summers ago.

Get ready for some great pop rock, influenced clearly by The Beatles, from our home-state Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, Cheap Trick. The members – like so many great classic rock bands that debuted in the ’70’s – have often said that The Beatles on Ed Sullivan moved them to try the music business. And nothing says summer like a good dose of Cheap Trick. Enjoy it at 6:15p this week until I disappear from the radio for a few days.
