Journey, the San Francisco band that entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame two years ago, just announced they’re doing their second Las Vegas residency. In honor of the October shows, I’m doing an all Journey week on Doc’s Deep Dive at 6:15pm this week (M, 4/15 – F, 4/19).

Back in 2017, Journey played nine shows at the Hard Rock in Vegas, the band’s first residency in Sin City. Journey is now going to play nine shows in October at Caesar’s Palace between October 9 and October 26. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, 4/16, with general public tickets sales starting Friday. Tix start at $69. The Las Vegas Sun also predicts there’ll be more shows announced in addition to the October gigs.

To me, Journey is one of the bands that both guys and girls liked equally, at least before Journey went too soft rock and ballad-driven near the end of their big run. My high school Journey album was Infinity, the band’s first with lead singer Steve Perry. Infinity’s my favorite album by far. At our suburban Detroit house parties, that album would have everyone singing when spun on the host’s turntable. So most of my Doc’s Deep Dive tunes will, accordingly, be from that album.

M, 4/15:  Something to Hide

Tu, 4/16:  Winds of March (video from a Chicago concert below)

W, 4/17:  La Do Da

Th, 4/18:  Still They Ride

F, 4/19:  Line of Fire (Live)
