Kansas is playing the Peoria Civic Center Theater Saturday night, and tickets are still available to see the Midwest masters of progressive rock play on their 40th anniversary tour for the album, “Point of Know Return.” Kansas will play their hits, either with full band or during an acoustic set, then rip through the entire Know Return album in the original order.
Most rock bands feature a great lead guitarist and singer. Kansas has the added lead part in most of their songs of a major violin solo, usually played by longtime violinist David Ragsdale. David’s in his second stint with the band, and he’s happy to be shining with an instrument that, frankly, he didn’t even want to play as a kid. His parents made him take lessons as a kid, but then he took it up by his own choice around the time he was getting out of high school. Good move.
