Remembering John Lennon Saturday With Hourly Blocks Of His Music [VIDEO]

youtube

This Saturday marks the 38th anniversary of the death of John Lennon. Most of us heard about it from the Monday Night Football TV broadcast, blown away by the news about Lennon’s far-too-early demise at the hand of a lunatic in New York City. It was a friend of John’s, Howard Cosell, who broke the story dramatically.

That was Monday, December 8, 1980. Six years earlier, in better times, John was a guest on Monday Night Football with Howard.

At 95.5, GLO, his musical legacy lives on every day, and on Saturday we’ll start each hour with a three or four-song block of Lennon’s music with The Beatles and his solo career.  Listen from 9 am ’til 7 pm as we remember the music and memory of John Lennon.

Lennon was an iconic rock figure and a household name even for those who didn’t like his music. He was a musical genius and a beach of peace. Join us Saturday, on the 38th anniversary of this black mark in history, to remember John, from Peoria’s only classic rock station, 95.5, GLO.
