Undefeated teams meeting for a conference championship in back to back Friday nights on the Super Nutrition Red Zone Game of the Week…not too bad, eh?

A week after Farmington prevailed over Elmwood/Brimfield in the Prairieland Blue Conference championship game on the Red Zone, we look forward to bringing you the large school, regular season game of the year, with the Mid Illini Conference title hanging on the outcome. Listen Friday night as #1-ranked, Class 5A, Washington (7-0) makes the short trip to face rival, (7-0) state-ranked Metamora.

Washington’s been atop the AP state polls all year and hasn’t really been challenged. The Panthers’ half a dozen 3-year starters and supporting cast have been a cut above all area teams thus far. Metamora, meanwhile, behind 3-year QB Tommy Hall and an improved defense, is enjoying a resurgent, unbeaten fall after a rare playoff miss a year ago.

Pregame show begins at 7 O’clock with interviews from both head coaches, Ryan and Crouch, as well as insights from former Illini starting lineman, Tony Johnson, our Red Zone color analyst. Jason Glick is back at the controls in the Red Zone studios, producing and tracking scores from all the area games in week 8.

Peoria High lost another tight game last Friday to slip to 4-3, putting its playoff chances in doubt.  The Lions host 5-2 Bloomington, which decisively ended Notre Dame’s 4-game winning streak last week, at Peoria Stadium in our secondary game. Tom Meredith will be there.
