A band we’ve loved for decades is officially calling it quits. Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Lynyrd Skynyrd is embarking on its swan song voyage, the Last of the Street Survivors Tour, and has chosen to play Peoria a visit one last time. 95.5, GLO, Peoria’s classic rock station is proud to present Lynyrd Skynyrd on Saturday night, November 3 at the Peoria Civic Center Arena! Tickets are on sale now at the box office and through Ticketmaster. Click HERE to access the Civic Center site.

For many of us, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s southern-fried style of rock provided a soundtrack of hits for our youth. The band’s boogie-blues-rock hit a chord with a legion of fans. Their songs will live on long past their final tour, songs like: Free Bird, Sweet Home Alabama, That Smell, What’s Your Name, Simple Man, Gimme Three Steps, Tuesdays Gone, You Got That Right, I Know A Little, etc come to mind easily.

Despite being plagued by tragedy and bad luck, the band persisted. Johnny Van Zant took over on lead vocals for his brother, Ronnie, who died along with other band members in that infamous 1977 plane crash. Ricky Medlocke returned and Gary Rossington remains from the original lineup.

Don’t miss Lynyrd Skynyrd’s final Peoria performance, Saturday, November 3, at Carver Arena inside the Peoria Civic Center….presented by Live Nation and Peoria’s classic rocker, 95.5, GLO.
