Are Brian Johnson And Phil Rudd Back Recording With AC/DC?

Former AC/DC members Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd were reportedly photographed together, taking a break, outside of the Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, by a Canadian journalist this week. That’s the studio where AC/DC recorded their last three albums. The only question is when was this pic taken, recently or years ago?

Are these two back in the band and recording new AC/DC songs? Were they there to work on their own material? Don’t know yet, but it’s certainly an interesting development in the drama that’s been AC/DC’s revolving lineup over the past few years.

Currently, at least last time they performed on tour in 2016, AC/DC consisted of co-founder Angus Young, Guns N Roses singer Axl Rose, drummer Chris Slade and Stevie Young, the departed Malcolm Young’s guitarist nephew.

Longtime singer Johnson was pushed out of the lineup in 2016 when hearing loss forced an earlier than planned retirement. Johnson has stated that his hearing loss is not as bad as initially diagnosed. Axl came on at that time for the last Rock or Bust Tour, and rumors of the current lineup producing new music surfaced. Drummer Rudd was booted in 2015 due to legal charges and sketchy behavior in New Zealand, involving drug abuse and murder threats he made at a prostitute. Bassist Cliff Williams retired after the Rock or Bust Tour in 2016.

I’ll keep an eye on this for sure.
