View Queen Film Bohemian Rhapsody New Trailer [VIDEO]

The hype for the November release of the Queen biopic film, “Bohemian Rhapsody,” continues to swell. I’m going to do my best to lower expectations so I won’t be disappointed, but these movie trailers aren’t helping.

Queen and 20th Century Fox released their second trailer for the movie this week, and it’s pretty awesome. You get to see more interaction from the actors playing Freddie, Brian and Roger, more of the band’s early struggles and such. And unlike the first trailer which showed no trace of Freddie swinging the other way, this trailer does. The gay community and Borat weren’t happy about the first trailer showing Freddie only with women.

Brian May let the rock press know about the film in 2010, so it’s been a very long time coming. Sacha Baron Cohen had initially signed up to play the main role of Freddie, but the band thought his big persona might take the spotlight away from Freddie and the band’s story, or something like that. Cohen, meanwhile, wanted a grittier, unsanitized portrait of Queen, but the guys weren’t good with that. Also, the film is expected to follow Queen’s story from conception to their triumphant Live Aid performance in 1985 and not track Freddie’s later years or his death from AIDS six years afterward.

So, the actors in the film are less known than Borat, who cares. We’re hearing they sound like the band and look enough like the members for the viewers to buy in. “Bohemian Rhapsody” hits theaters November 2. And Borat is still busy and awesome, punking celebrity blowhards.
