Should things not work out with Axl Rose, AC/DC could always check out British singer Jenny Darren, who recently stunned the judges and audience on Britain’s Got Talent.
The 68-year old singer took the stage dressed as a typical 68-year-old woman, but soon did a strip down to reveal a more appropriate outfit for her version of “Highway to Hell.”
Jenny is no stranger to the band, she opened for them in 1977 as a member of the Stoney End. She tells Radio Times, “It was brilliant. I was with AC/DC in the afternoon for the sound check and I just looked at my band and I said, ‘We have to change the style of the music, guys, to fit in with this band.” She continued to say that’s why she became a rock singer.
Jenny’s 1978 album Queen of Fools contained the original version of “Heartbreaker” before it became a hit for Pat Benatar.
Here’s her audition.
