Eddie Vedder’s Surprise Oscar Performance [VIDEO]

We know you don’t watch awards show, we don’t either, and since they kept Eddie Vedder’s performance under wraps there really was no need to to tune in, except it was awesome and perhaps if they had promoted it, maybe the Oscars would have had better ratings. Either way, there’s youtube and we have it here for ya.

Eddie performed during the Oscars In Memoriam tribute and he honored one of his own by performing a Tom Petty song “Room at the Top,” which is the lead-off track on Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 1999 album, Echo.

Vedder did so well and stired up so many emotions that it was the talk of the social media world last night and this morning.

However, people have also been saying that it was strange that Chuck Berry was the only musician referenced in the Oscar tribute since Petty was the subject of a 2007 documentary Runnin’ Down a Dream AND Chris Cornell sang the theme of 2016’s The Promise and were both left out of it.

Check out Vedder’s performance below.
